Do I need a referral?
No, you do not need a referral. However, a referral from your GP, medical specialist or other allied health provider can be helpful.
What is involved in a neuropsychological assessment?
A neuropsychological assessment usually takes 3-4 hours. We first undertake a clinical interview to discuss your concerns and obtain important background information. Then, you will be administered a number of standardised cognitive tests. Following the assessment, your neuropsychologist will analyse your test results and provide a detailed neuropsychological report.
What are the fees?
The fees for neuropsychological assessment vary depending on the purpose of the assessment and complexity of the case. Our fees are set below the Australian Psychological Society recommended fee schedule. All fees will be discussed and a quote will be provided prior to the assessment.
An indicative guide to our fees are as follows:
Comprehensive neuropsychological assessment - $1650
Face to face appointment (usually 3-4 hours) during which comprehensive cognitive testing is completed. A detailed report and feedback on results is provided following the assessment.
Adult ADHD assessment - $1880
Face to face appointment during which comprehensive cognitive testing is completed alongside a structured interview and questionnaires addressing ADHD syptomology. A detailed report and feedback on results is provided following the assessment.
Capacity Assessment - from $2200
Face to face appointment during which comprehensive cognitive testing is completed. Neuropsychologist will additionally assess and provide an opinion on decision-making capacity. A detailed report and feedback on results is provided following the assessment.
NDIS clients (self-managed and plan-managed) - as per NDIS rates
NDIS funding can be used to cover the cost of assessment for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS clients. Please contact us for further information and/or to obtain a quote.
Tailored Support session - $220
Option of face to face or telehealth sessions (50 minute session) for clients following an assessment. Sessions focus on developing a personalised plan and evidence based strategies to enhance cognitive functioning.
Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) Psychology session - Initial session $280; Subsequent sessions $220
Face to face session for clients with functional neurological disorder. Initial sessions (90 minutes) are focused on providing education about the processes underlying FND. Subsequent sessions (50 minutes) adopt a structured CBT approach and can include collaboration with other allied health professionals involved in your care. Medicare rebates may be applicable in some cases. Please contact us to discuss.
Home visits - travel fee dependent on location
Clients can be seen for assessment in their own home or residential care facility. Travel fee applies depending on location.
Neuropsychological assessments are not eligible for Medicare rebates. Some private health insurance funds may provide some coverage of neuropsychological assessment fees. Please check with your health insurance fund directly to confirm.
